Our Story
We are a family of five. We love sharing and experiencing the magic of Christmas together. We go to local pageants and carols, we drive around looking at Christmas lights, we read Christmas books every night in December, we have kindness elves visit… and the list goes on. Amongst the magic though, we are always conscious of directing the focus away from simply receiving at Christmas, but towards also showing kindness and generosity towards others.
Now that our eldest son has reached the age where he is starting to hear whispers that Santa is not real, the time will soon come for us to share the truth with him. This was the beggining of The Kindness Movement. We did not want the Christmas magic to stop for him. We knew that believing in Santa had taught him about kindness and generosity, so it is important to us that we encourage him to became part of the magic too. Whilst the act of kindness has always existed, the movement itself has not. We wanted to change that. We want to bring people collectively together, united in their cause to spread joy, love and generosity. We want to inspire the next generation to lead with kindness.
The Kindness Movement does not exist just to share the truth about Santa. Our hope is that one day soon it will be made up of a genuine group of people, here to encourage authentic actions, to bring about real change. We want it to create new family traditions that draw on the true spirit of Christmas. And it is not just for our children to be part of, we encourage families to get on board with it just as our family has done.
