The gift that gives back

It is no secret that our native wildlife population is struggling. They are up against so many obstacles affecting their survival that are mostly caused through direct and indirect human interactions such as line entanglement, car strikes and domestic animal attacks. A few very special organisations close to our heart dedicate countless hours and resources to care for various native animals including marsupials, reptiles, native birds and seabirds. They volunteer their time and expertise to respond to calls and provide the treatment necessary for each individual case.

The heartbeat of The Kindness Movement is to pay kindness forward. As part of our own personal commitment to continue this important role, we choose to lead by example. We make a small donation from the proceeds generated through each membership sale directly to a few foundations that we believe are making a genuine and lasting impact across the Fleurieu Peninsula.

We choose to donate to:

Wildlife Welfare Organisation: WWO take calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They respond to over 3,500 calls annually. The team is comprised of 70 dedicated volunteers with 39 years of experience. They are a non-for-profit organisation that rely solely on donations and money raised through their community op shops.

1300KOALAZ: They are the largest group of experienced dedicated volunteer koala carers and rescuers in SA. Their team is dedicated not only to rescuing and providing all veterinary treatment and care necessary, but also to rehabilitate sick, injured or orphaned koalas so they can be released back into their natural habitat. They are a non-for-profit organisation.

It gives us great joy to support these organisations that care for vulnerable and native wildlife by doing their bit to make the world a better place.

One of our favourite quotes here at The Kindness Movement is by Margaret Mead.

“Never underestimate the power of s small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has”
